I am only responsible for myself. Only I can change me.

From California - was a beach girl all my youth there. Then a business lady, very successful in my party business in Santa Barbara. Met a handsome English RAF pilot who then whisked me and my young son off to live in England. Lived there happily for 16 years, now living in Spain, retired, and having fun in the sun! Put on a bit of weight doing it though (too much vino and good food) so got serious last year on this site and have lost alot of it now. Feel and look so much better too.

Health (breast cancer survivor - 2006) is the main reason, and vanity! I want to look good - have always strived to look and be the best I can be. Felt the middle age spread happening and decided to fight it and lose it. Back into a bikini, and not looking too bad for my age. My husband and I are more fit and active than most people 1/2 our age - and even younger. We wear my 26 year old son out when he visits us here!

Having to always cook for my husband - even though he eats most of what I do, sometimes I'd be happy with something small and easy, but then I feel I need to throw a good meal together for us. Also, visitors (of which we have many) and ex-pats who are around and want to go out to eat alot, have bbqs and also drink alot of cava and wine here. That really puts it on. So I have to say NO a lot, be the designated driver, and have really strong willpower.

I basically inspire myself. I feel so much better about ME when I am in control of my weight and exercise, and fit in my clothes better. My husband David encourages me and he's lost weight also, but I know it's only up to ME to lose it and keep it off. I feel great this last year for having done it, even though I'm not at my desired weight yet. I know I'll get there.

2-day cancer diet on Mondays and Tuesdays, then a healthy Mediterranean diet the rest of the week. Limit the bread and alcohol and things like mayo and butter and sweets - eat very little of that. Tons of fruit and veg, fish and chicken and turkey. Lots of water!

Snorkeling, diving, swimming, biking ,hiking, walking, yoga, travelling, discovering new places.
